Museum of the Center of Europe EUROPOS PARKAS

European Kayagum

About the artwork
Speaking of his own work, Ko Seung-Hyun, a South Korean artist, notes that it is important for him to be a part of nature, and do so to the best of his ability.

Ko Seung-Hyun has designed sculptural musical instruments for Europos Parkas. His work engages the viewer into action, invites them to play, to strum the strings of the sculptures like those of musical instruments. The artist places a lot focus on designing oversized park sculptures connected to a particular place. This work is designed under the tradition of the kayagum, the traditional Korean string instrument, and are named after the location where the new piece of work is displayed.
