About the artwork
Metaphors and tensions are a key element of the creative work by the sculpture Vladas Kančiauskas – they are achieved by highlighting colours, reflections, combining different materials. The artist has studied arts in Lithuania, New York, and Rome, and his sculptures stand in public spaces of the country and different towns.

In 1968–1974, the sculptor was a student at the National Art Institute, in 1989–1990, at the Study of Modern Art in New York, the US, in 1995, at the Study of Modern Art in Rome, Italy. Since 1975, his work has been featured in a lot of shows in Germany, Russia, the US, Japan, Lithuania.
